  I think we need to bring back the Road Speed Limit that Rawlings introduced to curb Road Accidents in Ghana. During that time vehicles on our Highways were timed when they left the outskirts of our cities and Towns. For every thirty minutes, the vehicles were timed and recorded again. Such times were transmitted to other road barriers and District Stops where the vehicles were obligated to stop and be logged. That immediately reduced the Vehicle over speeding and accidents in the country.
  Next, vehicles that were loaded twenty or thirty minutes after the previous one was not supposed to arrive at the same or close time. This was well monitored and Drivers did not overspeed. Those who were found to have overspend were heavily fined and sometimes jailed.
  Vehicles were also expected to undergo compulsory inspections and maintenance, especially about their Brakes, Steering Wheels, and allighnment. Vehicles could not also overload with Passengers and Cargo. Such Road Inspectors were not maintained at one point for more than two days to pick acquaintances with drivers. Some Passengers were also made to time the vehicles left their stations and at all Inspection Points, and even to their destinations. Let us go back to that and Vehicle Drivers will not overspeed on our roads.
  Finally, our roads were appropriately maintained so we didn’t have all that many Pot Holes and Plunge Pools.

  Kumasi Accra Sprinter, toyota express and some VIP drivers are mostly the cost of these accidents. Wrong overtaking as the least chances they get total overtaking.

  There’s not a single lights on that road from Accra to Kumasi.
