Why go for players who don't even identify as Ghanaians? They just have Ghanaian names but of different nationalities. Let's focus on those who are willing and continue to develop the great talents we have.

This nonsense should not be published on Ghanaweb. These guys will never play for black stars. So stop it, it won't happen.

When are we going to stop this idea of always going for individual players of Ghanaian origin? In association football, the formula is building a team from the grassroots. Football is not played with a selection of brilliant players. They may be good players alright but they cannot play as a team if we keep on relying on them. How can we expect different results when we keep doing the same thing over and over again.

@Spark, I share your sentiments exactly. Going for foreign players with Ghanaian origins is a cost effective way of not developing homegrown players from domestic. This is a stopgap measure with the objective of winning matches and not on player development on a sustained bases. It takes a strong will to sink money into the domestic league to upgrade the deplorable playing fields and develop talent. Corruption is an albatross on the necks of GFA officials because they would rather pocket funds from FIFA on themselves than on players. The foreign-based mercenary players are only interested in playing for Ghana in the world cup, because they see that as an opportunity to showcase their talents in order to secure a more lucrative contract.
