  Those who don’t see the rise of ethnic bigotry as a serious threat to the country need to educate themselves. It is only the lack of education that drives people into believing that their ethnicity is better than others. We have turned ourselves into seeing the world through tribal politics, so much so that we look the other way if someone within is committing a serious crime, and we will look the other way if that person causes a very serious damage to the country. This is why we jubilate when government officials going about their legitimate duties die in an accident. The next Sunday we are sitting in the front row asking something from God. We are all confused because we have decided to go tribal. This has prevented us from solving our basic problems we face. When other countries are moving forward through education, respect and peaceful coexistence, we are building structures that will forever divide us, hence we will never understand what is on the other side. In effect, we have imprisoned ourselves. How helpful is that for a country’s future generations and development? I see young people who should internationalise their knowledge base, engaging in tribal and political warfare against their fellow Ghanaians. My brothers and sisters, we don’t need anyone to tell us we are heading towards a disaster. Think carefully.

  What you wrote is perfectly true. We have turned the country into a bigot camp. This is especially with Ashantis. Its high time we wake up from this sleep walk into disaster. This is exactly how the Rwanda genocide began years ago before the killings started and same way the African tribes in Liberia were looked down upon by the newly arrived Americo-Liberians leading later to their devastating wars.
  
  We are not immune to this conflicts. The conflicts in the north durung Rawlings era should be an eye opener. We are brooding vipers in our own bosom and God help us when they hatch.
  
  Social studies in schools need to be intensifued with emphasis on being Ghanaians. Nkrumah, God rest his soul, deliberately eliminated tribe from all Government forms and encouraged bordering system of education that led to peaceful coexistence.
  
  Asante by tradition has not been bigots. The reestablished confederacy in 1931 had people from all ethnicity held as equals in allegiance to the Golden Stool. From whence this bigotry crept in is baffling.
  
  Asantehene is respected because he is a man with wisdom and intervenes in national issues. That respect comes with privileges but that should not sow bigotry into his subjects.
  
  He himself has on all occasion advocated a united Ghana.
