@Bortey, educate yourself: the offenders’ light was being disconnected when they started randomly attacking NEDCo staff. If the staff are being attacked who is going turn the offenders’ lights off. The MTN example doesn’t Make sense and is not a comparable situation. MTN can be turned off remotely and people can’t connect illegally to MTN by tapping into physical MTN lines. The King is a disgrace. While showing anger at the Minister and NEDCo, most of his anger should go to the thieves. Has he done that? What a shame

That Yaa Naa is a very backward illiterate being pushed by fellow backward illiterates to show off powers he does not have to boost their egos. Dagombas, since the installation of this Yaa Naa, have become hostile towards public institutions in the Northern Region and non-Dagombas working in those institutions, claiming to be victims of non-Dagombas for many years because those institutions have been managed by non-natives for many years without Dagomba involvements in those institutions. But the fact is that until 2005 onwards, Dagombas were largely illiterates and not fit for white color jobs. The majority of nurses, doctors, teachers, agric extension officers, and so on working in the region were from the Upper regions and southern Ghana, particularly Volta region because there were no sufficient educated and qualified Dagombas for white color jobs. The non-natives sacrificed a lot to serve the region and to bring Dagombas up to where they are today. And instead of gratitude, they have become hostile towards the people whose sacrifice and dedication sustained their institutions and are victimising them while baselessly claiming to be victims who have suffered marginalisation in government agencies in the region in terms of jobs and control. Now these backward illiterates are beating the war drums at non-natives working in institutions in the region and demanding that non-natives should not be allowed to head any institution in their region and that leadership in public institutions over here should be assigned only to Dagombas and Kokonbas who they share the region with as though those institutions are being financed by Dagomba money or traditional authorities and not the Ghanaian tax payer. The government should thread cautiously on this and related matter and not allow them to blackmail it with their political alligience to any political party be used further divide this nation. I also urge government to consider siting state institutions outside Dagbon so that they can function properly without the unnecessary interference from the chiefs and the people.

What a nonsense? Who gave the chief power to be angry at a whole minister? If you are a great chief, provide your own electricity for yourself and subjects. I have heard from siblings who worked in Tamale that the locals and chiefs want only Dagombas to lead institutions. Where on earth will you attack government workers for no justifiable but not fined by the leader called overlord? Is he happy with the attack ? Does he know what electricity is and the cost involves in production? As a worker in Ghana hailing from the north,I will never accept posting to Tamale based on this uncouth conduct from the chief. The minister has done him a favour by visiting. Government should warm this chief, another attack on any agency will result in complete withdrawal of services. Light should not be switched on immediately but delay for Additional 2 weeks so that they learn the value of the NEDco members. Most annoying is the fact he felt angry and asked the minister to leave. Ghana won’t progress if some of these traditional leaders behave this way.

The YA-NAA is lucky, if it were that man and his ministers, they would have asked the YA-NAA to stand up before they shake hands with him. Truth be told, the illegal connections in the Dagbon area is just too much. Whose money should the VRA use to generate power for the people of Dagbon? I suspect the YA-NAA was not properly briefed. I don't think the people of Dagbon voted for the NDC to enable them to do illegal connections freely for the king to say the people who gave the NDC power are those sleeping in darkness. Electricity consumed by the YA-NAA palace is not for free, it's paid for by the local assembly so why will others refuse to pay but resort to illegal connections?

Do they expect the rest of the country to pay for them?
