Who told you that the Ghana Medical Trust is going to compete with NHIA? Some of you just do not read; you do not research on anything you have no clue about, and yet make weird Statements with misplaced confidence without caution; you act on impulse with assumptions and deliberated lies to decieve the public. The GMTF is meant to solve the problem of non communicable diseases that are beyond the capacity of the NHIA to handle. Those who qualify for the trust will be patients recommended and refered to by doctors who need help to treat such expensive diseases which the NHIA cannot handle; it includes all forms of cancers, kidney diseases, heart surgeries, etc. Please leave Obuobia alone; she is capable. The president knows what he is about, so please spare us your ignorance.

Just expand the benefit package of the NHIS to include what the so-called MahamaCares will cover. A new bureaucracy to manage this program is an expenditure that can be avoided.

Non Communicable Diseases like Diabetes and Hypertension are already covered under the NHIS. Will they be carved out of the NHIS to avoid possible double billing?

The NHIS is already bleeding, why would any sensible person take 20% of the NHIS capital to finance a similar project? The president's main aim of bringing that initiative is that no NDC government has brought a single people-centered initiative like NPP 's NHIS and FSHS. Why would he put his name on a national initiative? It's childish! Any change in government will see the collapse of whatever care. Our president must come again. This is waste of our limited national budget - going to create new offices and staff.
