3. Cut the import bill very deep by making some local groceries, crops and supplies as mandatory to buy over foreign ones.
4. Punish galamseyers and all other smugglers.. Put them away for a long time
5. Punisb corruption and corrupt individuals who will waste all this gains by stealing the surplus and wasting them... It's one thing gaining a surplus and another using it for a multiplier effect on the population.. Put away all corrupt folks for a long time
5. Dont forget armed robbers... If they won't work to add to output and want to take and cause insecurity then punish them with longer sentences...have speedy courts for them and Let them go for life sentences as a clear message

This is good news. However it is not enough for all these impressive figures to be thrown about. The money generated must be invested into tangible socioeconomic projects for the benefit of the masses. We must see massive improvements in road, housing, educational, health, environmental and other infrastructure. This is the only way Ghanaians will feel the effects of the gold boom.

Your title is good and agreeable however your points, 1,2,3 are xenophobic and despicable. It is a sociopathic illness that is higy prevalent in the west, to hate and isolate other people. Meanwhile they want to dominate and take over the lands and countries and resources and cultures of all other people. We don't need that kind of greed in our syllabus. The world is big enough and sufficiently-resourced to happily accommodate all of God's children if we all hold our hands together.
During Kwame Nkrumah time, he imported labor from many African, European and Asian countries not only to man our industries but to inter-mingle, know ourselves much better and learn from each other. When the terrorist gang led by scum like Busia, Danquah and co overthrew the govt of Ghana, the first independent Sub-Saharan country, with subterfuge, bombs and assassinations, one of the first things they did was to deport all foreigners - even including latrine carriers. Many years later, a certain President Trump of America has today found it fit to copy Busias bad example in also evicting "greener pasture" seekers from America with similar lame excuses. Perhaps we can look at Trumps antics as the Law of Karma in motion or simply say, what goes round comes around.
If today a more awakened Africa, asserts that our current geographical boundaries are artifical and were insensitively drawn up a few hundred of years ago for the convenience of thieves, resource looters and genocidal brigands, then why at this late stage of history, are we still deporting fellow Africans?

Why increase utilities if we are generating so much. Why not pay off the loans with some of this money instead of increasing taxes to settle IMF and World Bank??

Have those guys singing Mahama praises ever pause to consider the environmental impact of over mining and it sustainability in the long run? Exporting natural raw primary products is not and achievements. While some sensible countries are adopting industrial strategy to boost export and attain self sufficiency, we pride ourselves in draining our natural resources. God safe Ghana.

I am today loudly and unashamedly singing the praises of President Mahama because what he has miraculously achieved in only 6 months, informs me that he is by far the best thing that has emerged in the political domain of Ghana in the 4th Republic. Those who unfortunately have been inflicted with the fatal psychological myopia of the Busia-Danquah syndrome, but who at the same time are ungratefully enjoying the unprecedented benefits of cheaper utilities, cheaper transportation fares, cheaper educational fees, more organized and cheaper passport acquisition as well as consular services at our diplomatic missions abroad, should be left alone to stew in the green spite of their own excreta.
That said, I must however agree with you that the suspiciously comme-ci comme-ca approach of the Mahama govt towards the genocidal effects of mining - especially gold mining leaves not only a sour taste in the mouth, but a strong feeling of reserved respect towards the Mahama govt. It must be forcefully stated that the laid back attitude of the Mahama govt towards the existential threat of millions of Ghanaians living today and in the foreseeable future, sends shivers down my spine. The lame, rustic and totally unacceptable "excuse" by the demonic Akufo Addo govt that stopping galamsey, will mean cutting off the means of income of thousands of miners comes from the minds of greedy senseless people and I am ashamed that officials of the Mahama govt of today are singing the same cacophonous tune. We'll, for their information, all the major religions and philosophers have educated us throughout the centuries that life is more worthwhile than money or greed. In short, an unconcerned govt that allows many thousands of young men and women to go on and have direct and unprotected contact with extremely toxic substances, several hours each and every day, is looking on, knowing that most - if not all of these galamsey miners will be popping off in 5 or 10 or 15 and at most 20 years from the effects of close contact with these harsh substances. The rest of us who subsist on rural farm produce and half-distilled water flowing from galamsey areas will have to endure painful and expensive to treat, long-term serious illnesses from the effects of galamsey. So can somebody tell me why the govt is not sending military (airforce) enforcements to to wipe out the galamsey mines?

Now we are generating substantial surpluses so let know focus on completing major infrastructure projects such as ongoing Accra to Kumasi dual carriage way, Marine drive project, Nungua flyover. Before Nana Addo left office he commissioned a number of critical projects notably Flowerpot flyover, Kumasi airport, terminal three at Kotoka. NDC must also not only talk of projects they intend to start, but they must actually start them and complete a good number of them during their term in office.
