I am thinking that either the ghanaweb report did not fully cover the details of the Foreign Ministers revelation or he the Foreign Minister did himself a disservice by not fully explaining how and why visas will not be mutually needed between Ghana and the said countries. I suspect that there might have been specific socioeconomic reasons for the choice of those countries or, perhaps the new govt wishes to subscribe to the popularly prevailing South-South cooperation trends or even perhaps, it was those countries that initially reached out to Ghana to establish a visa-free arrangement. Further clarifications are needed to carry the public along with the exciting new developments.

I remember when I was on a long transit in Kenya with a friend from Cameroon. I could enter Kenya while waiting for my connecting flight in 10 hours. Unfortunately, my Cameroonian brother couldn't. I'm fairly certain that if we didn't already have visa-free access to Kenya, and it was just introduced, an idiot would ask what we are going to do there. A lot of Ghanaians are fools, poor, ignorant, but proud.
