@Chief twit, it works very well in Tunisia and that tiny country has got one of the strongest currency in Africa. Just google 100 dollars to Tunisian dinar then come back and spew more rubbish

Whether the cedi is stable or not Ghana should refrain from using the dollar as a yardstick in quoting prices in Ghana . Our legal tender is the cedi . There is no African country that do not use their own currency as a legal tender but uses foreign currency to quote their prices . It is only in Ghana . A country’s symbol is their unit of currency and their flags . Why are we ashamed of our currency and will quote prices using the dollar as a yardstick. Certain businesses and landlords are even demanding payment in dollars and this against the laws of Ghana. Violators must be prosecuted and jailed.

If the cedi were truly stable, pricing in cedis wouldn’t need dollar indexing. Gov’t should focus on inflation control, FX availability, and policy consistency.
