  Should adopt the culture of not unduly approaching a cordoned or restricted zone
  If one has to unavoidably enter a restricted zone, get to the officer in charge, who will ask an officer to take you into the restricted zone.

  If the police are not to use force, then there must be commensurate punishment for civilians who fail to observe their instructions otherwise you make their work difficult. This policeman has been trying to tell the journalist to move away from the restricted area but the journalist was more interested in his interview. You realize that the police are becoming helpless in stopping scuffles. What you sew will be what you will reap and the entire country be at the receiving end. Today it will be party A and tomorrow party B.

  The Ghana police has been abusing civilians with impunity for years and have not been investigated and prosecuted with the worse of these abuses occurring when Dampare was the IGP. Sometime last year a police detective cut off the ear of a suspect’s girlfriend during interrogation just to coerce her to admit the crime and nothing happened to the officer. If Mahama is resetting Ghana he must reset police brutality against civilians when they are arrested . The new IGP Tetteh Yohuno must sanitize the police force and weed out those who don’t deserve to be in the police.
