We have Winneba, UCC, etc offering these degrees. Countries like China, UAE, etc sponsor their citizens to come to the U.S to pursue degrees in emerging technologies and science to close skill gaps in their countries. Let’s reason for once. Stop the childish talk..it doesn’t matter if they are Npp because they are still Ghanaians..the fact is this whole scholarship scheme don’t make sense..if the govt wants to sponsor Ghanaian students abroad, it’s a good idea but it needs to be in a loan scheme and not a fully funded scholarships..with the loan, the govt is guaranteed to get the money spent on the students back even if they decide not to return to Ghana again because most of these students just need a way to travel abroad..so the govt must change the free scholarship to loan scheme with interest..that’s what most developed countries do..

It should either be in a form of loans with interest which the students will pay with a heavy interest..even in developed countries, they don’t give scholarships to students freely to go and study in other countries..this is abuse of public funds and that’s why Ghana always remain poor..this is misplaced priorities..why don’t u invest such huge money on this scholarship on improving infrastructure in tertiary education in Ghana..Mahama please revise this Govt sponsored scholarships because it’s draining Ghana as a country and these students don’t even come back to Ghana after their studies..

The government must investigate the backgrounds of each of the students and the courses they offering and those that falls out of merit should be helped back to Ghana to further their education.
It doesn’t make sense to spend millions of dollars on students offering courses like Geography and Music in the US whilst a lot of schools in Ghana faces infrastructural challenges.
Most of these near-stranded students are from rich families in Ghana and paid thousands of dollars in bribes to get these scholarships.
Almost all these students won’t be coming back to Ghana after the completion of their courses.

Is this part of his "Ghana Beyond Aid"? Now it's Ghana that has to find money somewhere to give to these students studying only God knows. Whoever was the head of the scholarship secretariat should be called to explain this to parliament. If no one is held accountable for this, there will be no lesson learned.
