We are happy the Forex rate is down but businesses are struggling because suppliers have held our goods in Europe and China for non- payment because we are not getting the forex to pay meanwhile money is sitting at the bank for the past 1 month , someone of us resorted to online payment with Debit cards but that one too has quickly been blocked with a cap of 5K USD daily which means 10days to pay only 50K online. It's frustrating that they have good intentions but BOG don't seem to have forex because good intentions don't produce USD and Euro

What did it achieve? He learnt the hard way that even under military dictatorship, he couldn't force people to buy dollars only at bank rate in the country. Even hotel prices are quoted in dollars in this country. 3. Abookis, Zammaarama or whatever name you called them are like local brokers, buys from the Borgers and sell them to Business men for profits. 4. it is not easy to close down black marketers as you need evidence, physical receipts of the exchange of the money for a Judge to convict. 5. when you close and move to arrest Black marketeers , they just move to another place, exchange can be in their homes.
