  In an ideal world and under normal circumstances, yes, Prof you're right. People must support political parties based on shared values and ideological beliefs. However in a country of high unemployment, limited opportunities and lack of access to social services and cushions, coupled with mouth watering campaign promises by politicians what do you expect? Politpreneurs, yes! Politicians seek support from business people and wealthy individuals with a promise of juicy appointments and contracts when they win power so what else do you, again, expect when that power is won? Until our economy improves and young men and women can apply for a job and get it without any political influence or interference, the current status quo will remain. Aren't you academics now also not doing the same? Aren't you on TV and radio subtly aligning with political parties likely to come to power and reaping the benefits there of? Aren't you a perfect example?

  Ideally accurate, but I wish u had stayed in the lecture theater to profer behind the scene solution instead of accepting a position which automatically makes u culprit of what u have just preached. However, that used to be situation in 1992 to 2008 when some young unemployed graduates like Okujato, Omane Boama, Felix, Otukonor switched camps and later found jobs with Prof Mills. Same continued with Nana Addo's and the thrend now seems the same. But our journalists are the cause of this mindset.
