Loans loans, loans! borrowing, borrowing, borrowing! What is wrong with us? This government is dishing out monies to university students for work not done. That’s exactly what Akuffo Addo and his people did to Ghana and destroyed our country. Any rational and forward thinking leader will invest such monies so that by the time these people graduate there will be jobs readily available. Any forward looking leader will think of buying tractors, combine harvesters, planters, irrigators to commence the agricultural revolution before the Industrial Revolution can effectively take place. Postpone the purchase of V8s and all kinds of cars, buy tractors, build rice, corn, millet, cassava plantations to feed the people, then you can look for money to process the surplus. In fact, the project will be self paying. Why are we not thinking right?

A store does not have to stay open at 1:00 AM neither do people have to be on the streets at 1:00AM to meet the definition of a 24-hour economy. Think of a farmer that produces plantain or cassava harvest but can only sell at the local market. Let's take as an example; at the local market a pound of plantain or cassava sells at Ghc 5 while at Ghana's metropolitan markets the same quatity or weight sell at Ghc 8 to Ghc 10 and in demand. What if there's a coop that offers credits at the villages and small towns and buy plantains and cassava at Gh 7 per pound and transport them overnight from the villages and small towns to metropolitan markets so that by daybreak those farm products are ready for sale at Ghc 8 or Ghc 10?

Are the drivers and people who load and offload the trucks not part of the 24-hour economy that gave us the farmer, the produce and the demand and supply of farm products at the city and metropolitan areas? Were people not working all night to bring the farm products to buyers in the big cities? The 24-hour economy is as basic as can be if you start thinking about all the activities behind the scenes Agyei Baffour. It's not a difficult concept even if its more than a majority of NPP so-called lawyer can comprehend.
