  A good summary sir. The gullibility of so many Ghanaian Christians is primarily due to the fact that most of them absolutely love the brand of Christianity peddled by some of these churches. These churches overemphasize on "miracles", "healings" 'breakthroughs" "material prosperity" and seek quick fixes to all their problems. There is little or no emphasis on living godly lives pleasing to the Almighty marked by integrity ( honesty), discipline, hard work, compassion and looking out for those less fortunate than themselves. For many the Church is a place to go and make demands of God! The strong impression often given to members deliberately or unconsciously is that members need to give or donate generously ( sometimes their last cedi) to their church or ministry in order to receive great blessings from God.
  IT IS AS IF THESE GULLIBLE CHURCH MEMBERS HAVE INDIVIDUALLY OR COLLECTIVELY SET ASIDE THEIR GOD GIVEN COMMON SENSE AND JUST SWALLOW HOOK AND SINKER WHATEVER THEIR FAVOURITE MAN OF GOD TELLS THEM.
  I repeat this kind of Christianity appeals mostly to those professing Christians who cannot endure the essential discipline of daily PERSONAL Prayer and Bible study which are vital pillars of Christian growth and maturity.
  Finally the proliferation of so many " Men of God", "Prophets", "Apostles' etc etc ( like mushrooms after a heavy rainstorm) is sadly in part due to the fact that many see this as an easy route to prosperity, respectability and popularity in society.
  The good news is that there are still tens of thousands of real Men of God and Women of God scattered throughout Ghana who faithfully labour in the Lord's vineyards often under very difficult conditions, completely out of the limelight, who do not even possess passports, have never flown in an airplane and who daily seek to please the Lord. THEIR STOMACH IS NOT THEIR GOD.
  We are clearly in the last days

The effects of "empire" and neo-colonialism are being felt even more now than before and the architects always cloak themselves in self-righteous acts and speech to deflect the gravity of their sins. We have a saying here that, "Woo tu okra fo no na woo tu momone nso fo.." Nobody made Benjamin a taskmaster over us but come to think of it, that is what he and his kind have always been.   Christians are not obliged to pay tithe. It was an arrangement by God to the Levitical priesthood of Israel for the duties they performed at the temple without working secularily and also not owing any portion of land like other tribes of Israel. One important duties of the priesthood was making animal sacrifice on behalf of Israel. That priesthood arrangement including sacrifice is now through Jusus who is the high priest. Read Hebrews chapter 8, 9 and 20. You realise that the levitical priesthood is referred to as former based on a former covenant with human priesthood. No longer used by God. So non of Jesus followers referred to themselves as priest and collected tithes. Paul did a lot of preaching and wrote about 14 of Bible books, but he worked as a tentmaker. Acts 8. Read 2thessalonians 3. Paul specifically said they worked to take care of themselves and gave to others in need. Whatever Paul and others received were voluntary donations and kind gifts not obligatory tithing. There is actually no scriptural basis for tithing in the Christian dispensation.
