There is more prayer (even fasting) and public worship in Ghana probably more than half of all the nations in the world put together but as the Imam rightly pointed out Prayer and public worship of God can never be a substitute for righteous living, hard work, integrity ,discipline and courage. These Godly traits which are repeatedly emphasized in the Holy Scriptures are mostly ignored by professing Christians and other monotheistic faiths (i.relating to or characterized by the belief that there is only one God) . God has ordained as part of the natural laws that govern human behaviour and the wellbing of mankind that in order to prosper as individuals and as a nations we must live by His principles and obey His Holy commands. This includes the need to work hard and honestly in order to be able to live well.Throughout the Holy Scriptures (whether in the Old or New Testament) the Bible has much to say about the link between Prosperity and honest hard work . When non believing people or nations practise these same God ordained principles they reap the benefits. As to whether the prosperity acquired will bring them satisfaction or peacethat is an entirely different issue because that will always depend on our reverrence for an Eternal and Almighty God and Obedience to his commands and Precepts. Jesus said [John 10:10] "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full".

A country where we glorify nonsense, indiscipline from top to bottom, corrupt practices all over the place including churches and mosques. What at all do we pride ourselves of as a country? Education, health, roads, transportation, agriculture etc which of them can we say we have developed to the extent that we can boast of by all meaning Ghanaians? The country lack discipline and patriotism, elements which we don't need any foreign exchange to acquire them. Until we all rise against obnoxious policies no matter the party in power, we will continue to wallow in poverty and see no development. If a gov't comes out with a policy which will deepens our suffering, members of gov't and party members must join forces to shoot it down. No party member could express divergent views on a particular policy. For instance, Prof Mills said he would introduce one-time premium for health insurance and discerning people clapped for him meanwhile the thing is completely not doable. No ndc member then came to counter the claim and he was voted for to become a president and he never mentioned it in his plan. Prayers and thanksgiving don't build economy but repentance and discipline. Instead of using such a gathering to brain storming on how to stop galamsey activities posing danger to our very existence, you gather for prayers and thanksgiving and you think God will be happy for Ghana? God has given us all that we need to be a happy nation but due to greediness, selfishness, jealousy, corrupt practices, weakness, indiscipline, pull-him-down attitudes and all the other negatives, Ghanaians are not happy as God is also not happy with Ghana. God is not happy with Ghana bcos all that God endowed the land with didn't benefit the majority but only a few people.
