Mentioning God on our lips per se doesn't draw a nation to God but repentance does. The nation's heart is drawn away from God as we do what pleases us but not God. Our political leaders actions and inactions have led ppl go hungry, homeless, thirsty, naked, sick, and in prison. The basic principles of christianity is feeding the hungry, shelter the homeless, water to the thirsty, clothing the naked, visiting the sick, etc. Until our leaders strategies, actions and policies are geared towards these vulnerable groups but not ourselves and cohorts, our prayers will be in vain and waste of everyone's time. Developed countries have developed for a simple reason that, everything they did and are doing is to improve the lifestyles of ordinary ppl including animals. Even if a snake is crossing the road all the cars stop for it to pass but here no mercy for animals so authorities actions and policies must be human centered. If we pray with hardened hearts as it is now, Koku, God will not shower his mercies upon Ghana. I cry when I see massive destruction of natural forests, water bodies and habitat of all kinds of animals in the bushes and forests. God handed over all that he created to man for protection and for our own survival but here we are hence I say that the national day of prayer and thanksgiving is a misplaced priority. May we repent first before seeking forgiveness.

Can't engage in nation-building when far too many of those tasked with that chore are into corruption, a disease that eats holes into nation-building efforts. Nor can one successfully engage in nation-building without any reasonable and carefully-laid out plans. Koku has just received his pastoral certificate, hence he has now progressed from singing President Mills' name every day to waving God's banner. You can fool some humans, but you surely can't fool God.
