Have you ever heard of any drug dealer saying to a court that he was following the status quo because others before him had been dealing in drugs but never apprehended or charged? Diverting government funds to his personal bank accounts surely can't be an act of following a status quo, it's thievery. The defendant is merely casting a wide net in the hope of getting the court to dismiss the case if the AG fails to grant the defendant's unreasonable request, and that will not work, for this isn't a fishing expedition. It's sad to see crooked politicians from the two major political parties rip off the people of Ghana and then shamelessly proclaim to be successful business persons who worked hard to gain their wealth. The AG should squeeze this crooked politician till he spits out all the funds he embezzled.

How come nobody has detected wrongdoing if the past directors before Adu boahene were operating in the same manner as he did? Akuffo Addo knows fully well that he has immunity so he did not care about the repercussions of his crimes. Where is the deterrent for crime if the perpetrators are granted immunity. The constitution must amend the immunity given to our presidents when they commit financial crimes.

If the records show that the accused person used the nation's resources(including the bureau bank account) for personal gain contrary to the law, it will not matter if same was done in the past. Atta Akyea's request to lift the full veil(to declassify all records) will not prove Adu Boahene has not done any wrong. What will prove he has not done any wrong is in the law(eg.The financial regulation Act, the main Act itself and any subsidiary Act). Atta Akyea's assertion that the act commited by Adu Boahene is a long standing practice even though it violates the law cannot be a defence. It defeats the whole purpose of Mahama's RESET agenda if this is allowed to stand.
