@Zagaloro, for all it's worth your comment is totally out of place. If you care to know the total population of Eswatini (1.2million) is barely a quarter of that of Ashanti Region (5.4 million).

@Citizen8. You are right with the size and population of the Ashanti Region. However if the King of Eswatini (with only 1.2 million people) travel to any country in the world he will receive a 21 gun salute on arrival. I am afraid, the Asantehene will never receive such an honor in accordance with the Geneva convention. Let's just accept things as they are and stop pretending that the Asantehene is at the level of a Head of State. His power ends in the Ashanti Region.

Two kings publicly dancing together at a Royal African event? A princess dancing with a prince, stops dancing midway and leads the prince off the dance floor without any courtesies? Why are they all wearing these bland and stuffy western evening outfits instead of any of our fabulous and exceedingly glamorous African coutures? Damn!!! What a missed opportunity?
I think Otumfuor seriously needs a professional Director of Protocol if he is to lead us into the big league of international Traditional leaders. Over to you, Chief.

My friend, name your source. Even if in the unlikely event the British did name their biggest warship "Ashanti", the reason you put forward cannot possibly be true. The more likely reasons would be the number of slaves, gold and other sources of wealth that they stole from the Ashanti kingdom to build their warship and other war equipment.

Still still not popular in the World like the Asantes want Ghanaians to think because when the Queen of Denmark visited Ghana, a significant event as she's! The Head of Monarchy , head of the Danes State visited Ghana, she never even went to Manhyia but to Akwamu and Osu. But how can a European Queen, a globally reputed Monarchy leader forget about the Asantes , when they are the most prestigious and popular Monarchy in Ghana like the Asantes say.! It means it's a lie and nobody cares and knows about any Asantehene globally. It's just a village Kingdom where the Akwamuhene has more prestige, maybe because no Akwamuhene was taken into European exile ever. Famous Kings in Ghana, tweaaaaaaaa.

Until now, I'm believing that he's a fan of Abrantie Amakye Dede's lyrical higlife tunes. Meanwhile, with so much money in their possession, it's my wish that the 2 African Kings have sat down to draw plans on how to create employment for the youth in their jurisdiction and not only live for themselves and family and the continuous show of opulence.
African youths are suffering, they need jobs to make a living, also!

Interesting but why so loud music at a banquet? Normally, the main actors give speeches at a banquet, food served and the guests eat and chat with each other. When it is all done then the band starts to play and those who so wish can stay and dance. It must be quite disturbing with so much noise through out the banquet. Also, in another video clip, I saw a man drinking water directly from the bottle at the banquet. That was the worst and uncultured behavior in terms of "etiquette" that I have ever seen. Also, the man standing behind the Asantehene to help him with his chair was not properly dressed for the occasion. He did not follow the the dress code. Why bother the Asantehene and the Eswatini King to shake hands with some guests at the banquet? It was obvious that the Asantehene was not enthused and it ended up with him just raising his hands instead of shaking hands with those guests. Finally, why force the Eswatini queen to put on the gold bracelet at the banquet? I guess there are few things which we can improve upon the next time we organize a banquet.

Charles, you spotted the leopard from far. I hope it wasnt Otumfuo's very good friend and brother Sam Jonahs daughter who organised the banquet. Because l know her detailing and attention to detail will crop such flaws of such a very high level VIP EVENT that is to showcase what asanteman can offer. The flaws were endless, The MC cocked up asking the 2 royals his silly question he claims he asked Mugabe. Was it relevant to this occasion? Asking such a silly question especially when the guest king had a stunning wife present with remarkable etiquette. The protocol team of manhyia and really have let otumfuo , asanteman, manhyia palace and the entire country Ghana down. They should all be sacked or sermoned before the asantehene to answer for their flaws. Even the accredited press invited behaved like hyneas on a dead carcass. Were they not invited to brief them on protocol for the entire event. They kept blocking the guest and host on arrival to events and also talking loudly to each other. Why did Lady Lydia not practice how to open the necklace before event, and was it necessary putting the necklace on the host Queen when she is already dressed for the banquet? Otumfuo was looking at his wife and must have been sweating. We should also learn to keep and manage our timing. I hope food wasnt served cold. As it seemed to drag on over silly persons who wanted to be relevant or outshine the host and guest. Apart from the excellent cultural
displays, elegant and stunning kente colours we really need to up our game next time such a high profile event is organised.
Surely Otumfuo will be also invited to Eswatini soon with his entourage, Nana please leave all those who acted like members of a concert party group. Hopefully by the time Mahamas ghana airways will be up in the air. As l doubt the VIP COACH drivers will struggle to find directions to Eswatini.
