  Asset declaration is still a good way to see if people better their conditions suspiciously while in office. But most corrupt officials and politicians don't direct the stolen money to themselves, but to close relatives. Hence, when you seek public office, your spouse, children and children in-law should be encompassed by asset declaration too. And your siblings (sic).

  You are right to say that because this type of asset declaration does not mean anything to we the citizens since it is not transparent and breed corruption because it is not open to the public scrutiny. But your government has the majority in parliament. Why don't you use this opportunity and this time round, change the current law to reflect your claim. If you do that then we all will applaud for you and we will know you are serious and true to your mantra "reset". Otherwise all what you are saying is just for the cameras. Do something through your MPs to change the laws to ensure openness once and for all.
