At a point in time in Ghana, the Ndc propagandists spearheaded by President Mahama didn't want to hear and know that the economy of Ghana between 2017-2020 was booming until the COVID and the Ukraine and the Russia war rippled effects shattered the economy. Now the chicken has come back to roost and President Mahama is now telling Ghanaians that the just heightened tension between Iran and Israel is going to affect prices of fuel in the pumps.

Why can't the so called experts and the propagandists conjure some “magic” to stabilise future prices of the fuel in the face of the so called heightened tension in the Middle East as they suggested when things were getting out of hands when the Covid and the Ukraine and the Russia catastrophes were bitting us?We haven't seen anything yet.

Let's wait and see how the dollar will respond to this situation before Ghanaians can continue to shower praises on the government for the “artificial” gains.

Later, when they came to opposition the NPP again said, although the Russia-Ukraine war has not ended, the dollar is performing because of Dr. Bawumia's Gold-for-Oil program, which per Bank of Ghana's report made huge losses leading to its withdrawal from the initiative. Specifically, the BoG reported a GH¢1.82 billion loss in 2024, on top of a GH¢317 million loss in 2023, totaling GH¢2.137 billion in losses over two years. Later, Afenyo Markins said government has refused to service its debts by paying contractors and there is inadequate liquity flow in the system. Lastly, I listened to Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokufo, who claimed that speculative buying(hoarding) of the dollars by some businessmen who have now released the dollars because there is a change in government and BRICS member countries have stopped trading in dollars. The president is being charitable to the NPP the excuses are too much and sometimes don't add up. In fact, they are lies not excuses.
