Parents, never fight this boy; always be available to help him; your intentions were good even though it is said that they were not within the law; help him to succeed despite the recent outcome; never engage in a wait and see stance. Help him to turn out well; the law is without feelings and doesn’t have the fears and pains you experience daily — don’t let the law steal your child from you— the law could ridiculously become a burden which is why God bypasses it to offer Grace through Jesus

Yes I agree with you. But all is not lost yet because the case is going to be heard again by another lawyer and may be, just may be the second judge may understand the position of the parents. I believe they have enough evidence to make a solid case because at a point the boy wasn't frequenting school and teachers reported him carrying knives on him to school. But the parents shouldn't give on their boy. He needs their love and even if he is sent back to London his short stay in ghana wil be another exposure in his life and affect him positively.

Great contributions from the first two comments.
However 'victory' is not yet assured for the boy.
The bigger picture is that, in both the United States and the United Kingdom, by every measure of social misery, blacks are at the top and by every measure of social prosperity blacks are at the bottom. That is a dangerous trend confronting the African Diasporan child that we must all find ways to address. Else the future wouldn't be good for the African boy outside Africa.

You claim the parents should take responsibility but cannot see the responsibility these parents have taken.
I read about this case for professional reasons and know something about why the boy wants to come back to London. You obviously don't know that his gang friends are contacting him in Ghana to come back so they continue their hideous acts.
If you do not know about something, do not be emphatic about the issue. To be honest you wrote incoherently.
Now i gave birth to 3 boys, 2 of them, men in London. I know how quickly i have to buy another house outside london so that i can move my 3 boys away from that filth.
Thank God, the first one is also a lawyer and the second completing his Chartered Finance qualifications and playing football as a semi pro.
Note that the UK government have a special policy towards children. They want more children under their control so that they can use these children to influence the narrative tomorrow. The more children, in particular the black ones are messed up, the better for them so that in the future, they can get their votes as it is the government that will be feeding them.
I meet these people in authority in my professional life. One told me, hey, we did a consultancy for the London Metropolitan area schools and after it was actioned, i took my children out of the area.
This is the state of affairs.

However I applause the initiative of the family. My own brother in America had a wayward daughter, they tricked her and brought her to Ghana ( her teachers even praised my brother's decision because they had problems on their hands.
Now just one year in Ghana and having seen the other side of life, she's totally changed and regretted the pain she brought on her parents.
She wants to stay in Ghana until she reaches University

Spare the rod and spoil the child” . Wee are all witnesses to the kind of children this modern world is raising.
Today, discipline is often labelled as abuse, and parents are being silenced in the name of so-called children's rights. We now live in a world where a child can take their own parent to court for trying to raise them with values and principles. What kind of system are we building?
In African culture, discipline was rooted in love, respect, and responsibility. It shaped generations with humility and character. But now, many African parents are abandoning their cultural values in favor of foreign ideals — and calling it human rights.
Yes, we can all live together, but that does not mean we must lose who we are. Let’s not trade our identity, our wisdom, and our way of raising responsible children for systems that may not work for our context.
Would you like to turn this into a speech, social media post, or article? I can help you shape it for the right platform.

My brother it’s very serious. Most middle and upper class parents are blissfully unaware of how they’re spoiling their kids. And it seems to be a trend. As a teacher in one of the top international schools in the country, I can attest that the insolence and entitlement of these kids is on the rise and it’s nauseating. In Africa, you want to withdraw corporal punishment on the basis of research conducted by whites?! If the discipline we endured back then could damage us psychosocially wouldn’t it be obvious now?

It is disgraceful to even praise corporal punishment against children. I agree there are stubborn once but having a blanket approach is detrimental to most vulnerable ones in the process. It is not a matter of whites matter and that is merely shallow minded thoughts. The whites have a more experience in the schooling system especially as canning existed in England a century ago and after weighing the odds they opted for a more civil approach with brings confidence in society and makes the bold and fearless to conquer the world as a whole unlike your shutdown unable to express yourself in most African societies. But these days thankfully I see the kids of today especially in Ghana coming our to be bold and daring and that makes me proud of them. Never again should any human unleash the horrors of "yesteryears" On our future generation!!!

Stats don't lie and the law they say is a double edge knife. Most parents will only make decisions in the best interest of their children. UK has a social system that takes vulnerable children from their parents to be fostered. If a parents are been proactive to safeguard their 14 year old son is an.issue because he was born in London etc...then very soon, it will become illegal for kids to be sent to UK or USA for a supposedly better living conditions because they were born in which African or Caribbean country. Sometimes common sense is not legal and legality isn't common sense. Mr Judge...do the right then

There has been many such decisions of parents sending wards to boarding schools in Ghana. Such decisions have almost always had positive outcomes.
The parents most likely went through the Ghana boarding school system themselves when they were young and therefore already know what goes on in Ghana boarding schools. There's no indication that the parents failed to check on the boy. Besides, the boy has extended family in Ghana who check on him.
If it's a case of the boy not being happy in this particular school, change schools.

Plans are already in advanced place to move my 6yr old boy who only speaks English and Twi from Accra to zebilla in the Upper East Region to learn the foundation of his culture and identity before he can come back to join me. Kudos to the parents in London for taking such a bold a decisive decision for the good of your almost wayward son. The system should allow parents to give the best upbringing to their wards. African leaders are blindly and ignorantly implementing policies that will end up destroying Africa. Bring back corporal punishment ASAP.

If a parent makes the decision to send a kid to a home country, one which is safe as Ghana to ensure discipline, they should be supported. We all know that is lacking in the UK. The parents fear the child's involvement in gangs. The first ruling was the best.
