Please make sure parliament votes on it, to make it law and harder to change in the future. Please reduce the number of regions from 16 back to 10. Expansion of the regions increased spending and corruption. If the highly populated regions of Accra and Kumasi can be managed by one regional mister, so should the others.

Also, reduce the number of top officials in places like cocoa marketing board, gold board, oil companies who just suck the country dry with nothing to show for.

About President Mahama cutting cost in government spending. He should first of all stop paying for housing , cars and other perks to the ministers. They get payed for what they do , and they get paid well to afford their own housing. Rich countries like America, Canada and other well to do countries, don’t pay accommodations and luxury cars to their MPS. Former President of America Joe Biden traveled by train everyday to go to his residence in Delaware which is not paid by government.Cut all unnecessary perks giving to them, will save the government a lot of money to fix our gutters. Thanks to the buststopboys , they deserves the perks from the government. Think about how much the country will save Mr. President.

The savings from those cuts will be just a fraction of the advantages. The most important benefits include garnishing support and patriotism from the rest of the citizens for the implementation of development policies. As it is now, it's a great disincentive to sacrifice slightly for the nation (if it's within your means to do that) seeing politicians flaunting in opulence from taxpayers sweat. It's a big slap on the face of the average citizen, thereby creating insensitivity and corruption. This simple trick has been the bane of good policies resistance and industrial strikes, but blinded by greed, governments will never learn, especially Akuffo Addo's govt.

Soon? When is soon? We won't hear about it again, and if we do, it's only going to be just one or two of those nation wrecking costs out of the numerous unearned useless benefits they enjoy which would be scrapped just to throw dust in the public's eye. Nothing significant is coming out of this. Mahama after pardoning Samy Gyamfu made it clear he has no intention of instilling discipline on our public purse and dented the the image of his corruption fight. Low minded individuals will not understand this but time will be the judge. Politicians will never make Ghana grow right, they will continue to milk the state using different approaches at the expense of the taxpayer. Let's wait and see the 'significant' result of this exercise, if it is indeed not one of their gimmicks...

Listen to yourself speak this nonsense. They'll steal because they create the avenue for that. They (politicians) have created a system that condones thievery to benefit themselves otherwise this thought wouldn't have even crossed your mind. A typical African myopic mentality. With a strong system put in place to curb corruption, none will even think of stealing from the state. You think whites are angels? a big NO, but their system is strong enough to check any criminality that's why they grow at a faster rate. Such a stupid comment, they should enjoy useless ex-gratias and allowances to prevent them from stealing? Are you sane at all?
