Do you recognise how irresponsible the NPP is? You are putting pressure on the current government to sign an agreement you refused to sign. You will never admit your contribution to our current state of affairs. You corrupted all our systems and chopped all our money so you never had money for development. Mahama’s government is just starting to save some money for development but you expect it to clean up the mess you caused. What an irresponsible party. By the way, that man is the owner of the anti Ghana media called Ghanaweb.

How come that akuffo addo didn’t pay between December 7 and January 7? Several payments were made between this period by the outgone government.

Bad NPP they set up agenda and they organised a counter using court injunction to by time because they knew they will loose the election and the new government will be in trouble to pay them. They should sack all those strike nurses and recruit new ones.

This is Nonsense. Where do you expect the money to come from when you squandered everything before leaving office. Afriyie is being disingenuous and playing politics.

Excuse all of us.. This is a government of about 6 months old.. You let power in January.. Why didn't you give them what they wanted like you Nicodemusly fill the sectors with people to frustrate governance? The government is being prudent with its spending... Issues of nurses will not end today or tomorrow... It will be addressed not not today.. People are dying.. Of what use would it be killing people with strike and get better service after? Its a shame. This ambushing must stop now..

Dr Ayew you are a dishonest person. Trying to score points with the nurses and trying to cry more than the bereaved.
It is all a waste of time, no money would be paid so the nurses should be prepared for the long haul.

Most of their demands can not be deemed as "RIGHTS", if they want those perks they should be ready to have it deducted from their salaries as contributions. What is the essence of the unions? always playing partisan. The government should clearly have its own rules and regulations. License renewals etc. Most of these issue's are created through successive governments failure to have the profession cladded with ethics and regulations. The standards of nurses in ghana is horrible, they dont deserve more than their salaries. AZONTO NURSES.

Just look at we had as a government in the NPP. Several monies were paid just after the elections they lost. Including Wontumi's $50million, and thousands were illegally employed but couldn't pay the nurses, even though they'd agreed to pay them. Then now they, through their NPP led GRNMA instigated this "death strike" using the poor nurses to express another of their pledges of making Ghana ungovernable.
BLOOD IS ON THEIR HANDS!! Typical NPP/UP actions.

What a bunch of nonsense, Dr. Afriye. The contract agreement between the Akufo-Addo/Dr. Bawumia NPP majority government and GRNMA stipulated July 1, 2024 as the implementation date. You and others can throw out a million excuses that could have taken place between July 2024 and December 2024 all day and all night but there's one thing your excuses will not cover.
President Akufo-Addo could have used his executive authority to sign the contract between government and GRNMA on his last day in office the same way presidents do offer pardons or set things "right" before leaving office.

It seems like people commenting don't really understand the nature of the problem. The nurses started discussing this issue with government since January and nobody was ready to listen to them. It is unfortunate that people are dying because of their strike. The government should do the needful by pleading with them to come to the negotiation table again. The health minister is even aggravating the problem with his utterances. I am surprise that people are insulting the nurses.

The fact is that its not only in the civil and public sector that allowances are consolidated, but as well in the private sector, since the ministry of finance has directed so long ago.
Thanks that now the GRNMA strike is over and we all hope that is will not occur again.
