If truly the government is committed to having a solution to this matter, what prevent them from assuring the striking nurses with a timeline for the implementation of their demands. Indeed experience is lacking in this government. Whatever happens, government will have to pay them these allowances one day why allow lives to be lost. Their media propaganda to portray the Leadership of the nurses as evil will not work. Just tell them inview of the on-going IMF program, government cannot pay them these allowances this but the budget after the program can accommodate this expenses....and save lives, lack of knowledge indeed my people punish

But party supporters will defend this evil done by evil politicians.

Complete nonsense to say that as a minister. Retired nurses and midwives who are walking with sticks and other aids should come and take over the work of energetic nurses and midwives. There's money to pay them cos the cedi has appreciated hence a minister drives in the streets of Accra and fetch dollars from his bag as gift. Again the gov't has money cos those containers packed with dollars, cedis, gold bars etc are all there. Those who are saying the gov't took over not long ago must shut up and stop defending the gov't cos, the gov't came to meet an already agreed condition of service and every gov't takes over assets and liabilities, the gov't can't escape blame for this strike. The condition of service was ready to be implemented and change of gov't came so the gov't has no excuse. The gov't excuse that it wasn't captured in this year's budget is absurd and very deliberate as they seek medical attention abroad so nurses and midwives condition of service can wait not for implementation but renegotiation. Very annoying for that matter. There are shortages of nurses and midwives in all health facilities and latest employed nurses and midwives were asked to stop working, rotten away in frustration. I support the strike as no one will fight for them unless they themselves.
