This is not true. Whoever the so called historian is must get his facts right. It was the then kumawuhene, Tweneboah Kodua who gave himself up for that sacrifice. And it wasn’t the battle between the Asantes and the Denkyiras, it was rather the battle between the Asantes and the British which the then Mamponghene hid the golden stool while the Brits took the replica away to Britain. Therefore, after the war, Osei Tutu and the paramount chiefs were mourning the lost of the stool which embodied the the souls and the spirits of all asantes, when Mamponghene showed up with the original one, saying he hit the original one so the one the White man took away was a fake one. Osei Tutu then promised Mamponghene and asanteman that from that day onwards, Mamponghene will be his deputy, meaning he will occupy the silver stool which signifies the second in command to the golden stool.

Kumamanhene, Tweneboa was subjected to the most painful and gruesome act by been personally butchered and chopped into pieces and so should have been more deserving for the second in command of Ashantihene and not the Mamponghene though the Mamponghene's bravely was equally worth some accolades..

It’s never and cannot be true that the all powerful Akwamu was once under Denkyira. I challenge this historian to bring his facts to support this claim. It is rather Akwamu which helped to liberate Asantes from the Denkyiras. Akwamu which defeated the Danes and took over Christiansborg castle in 1693, and ruled over greater parts of southern Ghana could not have been under Denkyira

Nana Mamponghene is one of the founding Rulers or Aman of Asante, and does hold an important position, however, not denigrating Mampong, there is great doubt as to whether Mampong was the 2nd most powerful Oman or Ruler in Asante, after the Asantehene when historical facts are laid bare. Asante history reveals that the power of all the Rulers was one of a variability, with even at times some divisional chiefs in the Kumasi state, becoming more powerful than even some Amanhene, a fact which was of distaste to the Amantuo and resulted in many conflicts.
Another fact is, of which previously mentioned is, Asante has only one National Stool which is the Golden Stool, only. The Silver Stool of Mampong is a Stool or paramount stool of Mampongman, only, not of the entire Asante. It’s similar to the Stools or Thrones of say, Asumegya, Kumawu, Dwaben etc, which all are specific to those States only.
Anyway, Asante of old is markedly different from present Asante, so some sacrifices have been made to ensure cohesion or unity.
Mampong has done well in its own right and also for Asante, cannot be denied. May, Nana Osei Bonsu II, rest well, until the day of resurrection.
This is not true. Whoever the so called historian is must get his facts right. It was the then kumawuhene, Tweneboah Kodua who gave himself up for that sacrifice. And it wasn’t the battle between the Asantes and the Denkyir ...
