The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association reveal a staggering exodus, with 732 nurses having left the country since the onset of January 2024 alone.
The President of the Association, Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, disclosed in an interview with Citi News that this alarming trend is not a new phenomenon.

But the question still remains when was the agreement with the previous government signed and why it is yet to be implemented after more than 2 years? Has the nurses being led by their leader Ampofo Perpetual declare an industrial strike? Has she lead her entourage to join the 2024 Galamsey demo organized to protect our forests, water and other natural resources? Is she doing the bidding of the NPP? Why not meet with the Labor Commission and other authorities to iron out their grievances and set the road map for the smooth implementation of their 2yrs agreement? Playing politics with people's health is the last thing we resort to. Power or position is not a property my simple advice to those of us in leadership. Striking against less than 6 months old government shows she is up to something discussed in the bedroom to make the government unpopular. Posterity is our judge. Humanely go and meet with the Labor Commission else your genuine concern may be tagged with politics.
