  Is our president confused or trying to please some people ? The most bogus statement from a Ghanaian president. From the time of Adam to date some pupils sit on concrete blocks, others lying on their bellies while others squat to write in public schools and look at a statement from a president. I pity those kids because even wooden furniture which is in an abundance and cheap, some schools don't have them. The question is, wood is readily available in Ghana yet some schools don't have furniture so if wooden furniture is banned, what's going to be used in its place? Whatever is going to replace wooden furniture only God knows and I pity the schools that lack furniture because they will never get it. Tweaa

  It sounds beautiful to opt for metal monodesks and dual desks in schools as a way to curb de-forestation but let us also not forget that these products which are locally produced from wood are mostly manufactured from industrial wood products which are meant for export into EU countries and USA.It is never only of the denial of the use and feel of the own country's wood product which has been exchanged for the foreign metal products ,dual and monodesks,to correct the statement,but a huge drop in the percentage recovery of the wood which at the end makes processed wood more expensive for export. Complete denial of logging and processing of wood mean wood preservation rather than conservation. An ecological and economic position which is impossible for survival and wealth creation.The reason why ecological buffers are created for the promotion and the check on the adverse of over-population.Let us recover what needs to be recover,the processed wood waste into mono and dual desks production-Pres.Mahama.

  This president is not serious banned wood for what, we can not survive without wood, school furniture are made once for many years and that’s a problem for him, what about buildings, kiosk, beds, wardrobes, dining room furniture living room furniture, firewood, coffin, coffee tables , boats for the fishermen has he think about all that. That’s why as we’re cutting them then we keep planting trees at the same time for the next generation we can not do away with wood as human beings to banned wood will not solve the problem because people will still cut it but rather let’s focus on planting more trees as we are cutting them down to replace them.That’s the only way even the Europeans and the Chinese also comes to buy our timber for their woods as well we can’t stop them.
