Please Madam Lordina Mahama if Ghana Senior High School (SHS) has given us President Mahama then as Ghana SHS celebrates its 65th anniversary, then Ghana SHS should also celebrate and honour its founder, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. It was President Nkrumah who established the Ghana Education Trust (GET) to build secondary schools throughout the country. With an endowment fund of 2.5 million pounds granted by the Cocoa Marketing Board which was later on increased to 4.75 million pounds. President Nkrumah established the GET which built secondary schools throughout the country. The GET schools had the same architectural design. In the North some of the GET schools built by President Nkrumah were Navrongo SHS, Bawku, formerly Azoka SHS. Please Madam Mahama, Ghana College as it was then called was opened by President Nkrumah himself on 23rd October 1960.(Page 194 Selected Speeches of Kwame Nkrumah Volume 1 by Samuel Obeng or Page 197 Centenary Edition Volume 1)So please Madam Lordina Mahama as Ghana SHS, Tamale celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, it is hoped that Ghana SHS Tamale, would honour its founder, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah
