Trump's chaotic trade policy and concerns about the worsening US deficit have dampened sentiment toward US assets, thus weighing on the dollar. "In the long term, a regime change for the US dollar could be imminent after the recent peak," said David Meier, economist at Julius Baer. "The unpredictable US policy, the strained fiscal situation, and the high foreign debt, combined with the two deficits, suggest that a weaker US dollar is the path of least resistance." Unquote

The fast appreciation of the our GHS without any productive backing is not good the economy.
Our export will become very expensive and therefore will affect production and jobs.
Appreciation of our GHS with a high MRP of 28% and high electricity bills will affect local production .Local industries will have a high overcost .Imports from US and China will be cheaper, so our industries will struggle and collapse.
Why is inflation still high?
So untill all the fundamental are right, we are sitting on a time domb.

Ghanaians should brace themselves for a harsher economic downturn. At a time when most countries are running away from stronger currencies, Ghanaians are clapping for themselves for going in the opposite direction. In the first place, we don't produce much for export. Secondly, the little we produce will become expensive. If I was buying a tonne of cocoa for say $1000 from Ghana, I will now need $1500 to buy the same tonne. No, I will go to Ivory Coast to buy it. Our cocoa will end up rotting away in the warehouses. A strong currency without a corresponding export receipt is detrimental to any country's economy. Fool stop!

Again we can not continue to sell dollars for too long. The bank of Ghana has withdrawn billions of the cedi from circulation. The quantity of money in the country has been reduced. We should note that the only legal tender in Ghana is the cedi. In a short time individuals will lose interest in the dollar because it has lost value in the economy. The only people who will continue to buy the dollar/euro are the foreign travellers and importers.
It would be a good idea if dollar was eliminated as a means of exchange in the local economy. That is the only way to stabilise the cedi.

The loading of tarrifs around the world will ease over the coming months, and stabilise the US economy and consumer confidence will level out.
The US DOLLAR HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 250 YEARS .....AND WILL AROUND FOR THE NEXT 250......THE CEDI ,WONT CRASH AND BURN,.BUT WILL COME BACK AND STABILISE AROUND 12 TO THE DOLLAR TO YEARS END.
MAKING PREDICTIONS, IS FINE ,BUT WITHOUT CERTAINY.....MARKET CONDITIONS WILL DETERMINE ITS TRUE VALUE.
