Have you guys seen what the private schools has done to our syto schools at the basic level? Do you guys foresee same happening to our secondary schools? Why can't you guys think? Will it be sustainable? Where are you getting the funds for implementation? How are they paid? Don't you think parents will from now onwards get their wards to elite private schools for the government to pay instead of our mainstream secondary schools? In fact I am getting disappointed. JM watch out because you have the chance to be the best president but these square pegs in same holes Ministers will derail all your gains.

I don't think this is a good idea. Private education should be treated as a choice. People send their wards to private schools for two main reasons: quality teaching and learning and, or for prestige. The government should spend that money to improve the quality of teaching and learning in public schools and allow those who opt for private education to do so at their own cost. Very soon, this policy like the FSHS, will become an albatross on our neck.

Now you are in government, and not only are you continuing the fee free shs, you are going to include the private shs schools and there is going to be fee-free for first year tertiary students.
How are you going to fund all these students entitlements?

If that is what you are going to do, then the 150,000 students to be posted to the private SHS, should come from the private basic schools in urban areas with highly populated schools. Their parents have no problem for sending their children to private schools and can also afford the fees. Most of the private basic schools fees are even more than the total expenses that will be incurred for three years on a student at the public SHS.

Remember, already there is serious discrimination against the Day students in terms of deriving the full benefits of the FSHS.
The government must be prudent and measured in her expenditures. Government must show maturity. The drama is too much.
