  Ironically, some officials who are paid these outrageous are the most corrupt, with their corruption radiating to their subordinates who brazenly and annoyingly ask to be paid for services for which they are being paid for. It's good riddance Mahama wants to review this. Some of these officials with such huge salaries, free government vehicle, house help and other incentives live like royals, while majority of Ghanaians just exist on the fringes. Only God knows what kind of special jobs they do in their offices to be paid such returns.

  To ensure fairness, the TUC must insist that all those working for the state should be paid using the national basic wage as a factor. Example: the president pay could be calculated as Basic wage x 200; vice president as Basic wage x 150, MP Basic wage x 100, etc. In that case politicians cannot arbitrary increase the emoluments and the workforce behind.

  When a former president told Ghanaians that we are sitting on money, what was the response from Ghanaians, unrelenting and uncouth insults was directed at that president. Now, how can an economy that was in tatters increase salaries etc to such levels.
  
  John Mahama is a walking contradiction, and you trust him at your own peril. Mahama told Ghanaians that NPP and Nana Addo had destroyed Ghana's economy beyond repairs so, where did he get the money to make such increment possible? Remember he has been in office less than six months.
