  I ask again, why not issue a directive to all Metropolitan Engineers to replicate same in their areas? Even permanent structures have been mounted on pedestrian walkways and landowners also plant hedges on them in many areas forcing pedestrians to walk on streets, risking being knocked down. These MUST also be pulled down.

  Suugestion:
  If the 24hrs works, set up night market
  Creat a market hubs for specific products
  Etc

  We have seen this many times before. From Henry Quartey to the immediate past mayor of Accra. The sad thing is that they all went around with the cameras without putting in place a structure to sustain their initiative. Everything the black person does is on ad hoc basis. We don't sit and think through our decisions before implementing them. I give this clean up exercise just 3 months and we'll see the hawkers back on the streets again.

  @kwame Nkrumah. I can not agree with you more. So well said. Apparently, we in Ghana don't understand what CBD stand for and what kind of businesses takes place at CBD. The whole country is one big village.

  The Government should build a big market somewhere else and demolish Markola. The sanitation situation and the handling of food items in Markola is appalling. The Ministry of Health should develop a task force to combat the unhygienic conditions in the market. How can we have a market without running water and clean washrooms? Meanwhile, we're busy building hospitals to cure diseases and not investing in preventing measures to fight the emergence of diseases.
