If not for inferiority complex, why would you want to be called a doctor when you haven't earned it. Address the substantive issue and stop hating on someone doing his work. The irony of the situation is that the likes of you would praise kwame despite etc because they're 'self-made men' and condescend people in academia for their dependence on salary. You will then turn around and want to be called titles that the people spent years ( the very years you spent learning how to trade in ?drugs) to earn. When people talk against that they say we envy despite for his money. If the money was enough, why the titles? I will tell you why. Any title, be it academic, religious, traditional, social or whatever, is only meant to indicate competence and not superiority or exclusivity as you and other empty pompous academics wrongly think. I think GTEC should rather focus on the futility of our chew, pour, pass educational system which produces thousands of university-made Dr's yet, we cannot guarantee basic water, electricity and even toilet facilities for over 80% of our population after over 60 years of independence. I am even shocked that GTEC would wish to protect these titles that cover so much shame and incompetence. In other very developed countries where the provision of basic utilities has been guaranteed for over 200 years and where true knowledge has even taken them to space, nobody refers to themselves with unnecessary titles or bothers about academic titles.

I do hate the appelative nature of Ghanaian society. It is the reason why every Tom Dick and Harry is doing a Phd programme. But a number of Ph.D programmes in Ghana are just useless. Many academics in Ghana write sub par papers and get promotions out of them. The quality of education is a reflection of the quality of everyday life in Ghana.
