Firstly, deported all alien beggars on the streets. They are nuisance to our society and eyesore to tourists. You can't find that concentration of beggars in any country. Clear them off!!

Well said Mayor. I hope that one day Accra will look like Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Addis Ababa is now probably the second most beautiful city in Sub-Saharan Africa next to Cape Town in South Africa?

  • Francis 7 months ago

Just one more addition. Please make a duty trip to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and learn from them. See with your own eyes the transformation that has occurred there. Contact your peer (the mayor of Addis Ababa) through the Ghana ...

I really don't think there is any need for the new Mayor to travel to Adis Ababa and to interact with their Mayor for tutelage. The new Mayor of Accra should be sufficiently qualified and enlightened so as to know what to do ...

Do it gradually please. Give and stick to timelines.provide alternatives and do more public education not only for the sellers but the buyers too( if people don’t patronize those goods the market will die gradually)

Can AMA also help to end the indiscriminate burning of rubbish in Accra? This practice pollutes the air and poses great danger to public health and survival. What about government or recycling plants buying refuse at even 1 c ...

Why are all mayors using same archaic method without success, what is wrong taking your time to develop new market areas and moving people there through negotiation. Instead of same military force

  • Gaskia 7 months ago

@Yaw, I don't know how old you are. This has been tried many times. They just refuse to move. They don't want to be regulated and maybe be paying for stalls etc. Some traders want to take goods to where people pass and get ea ...

Focus upon health and let the mobility and aesthetics follow from that. Accra is sinking from the weight of abandoned vehicles everywhere. Tow them off our roads at owners cost. Zero in on abandoned kiosks after.

  • Duke 7 months ago

I pray to God this can be sustained. Accra is simply too dirty and congested. Indeed Ghanaians are too stubborn...when can we learn. Politics have taken over everything to the detriment of Ghana. God help us
