I wish authorities involved could be put in their shoes to have a feel of working without a penny. Meanwhile, if it's about them, they will work on it within 24 hours.

Why from this useless ultimatum? Over one allowances have not been paid. What did you do when NPP government who was responsible was there. Why didn’t you give the NPP ultimatum and you are giving NDC government ultimatums who have just got four months in government? I don’t think you people are serious.

This arrears was started by the NDC. When NPP took over fron the NDC in 2017, this problem was there. The NPP government took time to clear all the arears in batches. Supposing there was no arrears those days to be paid, they would have promptly as and when nurses were posted. Today you are blaming this on the immediate past government. It seems you have no conscience. If NDC government cannot pay, they should hand over the power to NPP to rule.

This wickedness cannot be tolerated anymore. The poor nurse or the new doctor doing his housemanship is not paid. How he or she survive? How can he or she feed and finance his or her transportation to work? Accommodation is even not mentioned here. The minister who is provided free transport is rather paid. Is it not madness.

Please I don't understand "rotational nurses". Please help me understand. Are they not entitled to monthly salary? Are these student nurses or certified registered practising nurses?

Please, midwives and nurses stop going to work until your allowances are fully paid. This is not possible, and it is unimaginable to understand. Parliamentarians, ministers, public higher officeholders are monthly paid, they got expensive vehicles on loans, why not midwives and nurses? I’m begging all midwives and nurses to go on strike immediately. There is no time to waist. They need to get their full payments without any delay. Health workers in Ghana are not slaves, but citizens of Ghana like any other politician here. This is the first time I’m hearing this nonsense. How do the government expect these workers to live? They have people to take care of, husbands, school children, wives, parents and many other unexpected expenses. This issue is not about NDC OR NPP, it is about livelihood of the people. Would the government jail a nurse or a midwife, if he or she is caught in robbery? It is very very sad. One funny thing about these parliamentarians in Ghana is that, they have never mentioned this issue at all and they represent the citizens. The words you hear from them are as follows: impeachment of the president, unconstitutional dismissal of the chief justice, allegations against each other, defamation sues, arrest of political opponents, debates on comments, interpretations of the constitution, who speaks good English language, who wears which cloth to parliament and other nonsenses. NDC and NPP are both thieves, period. The minority leader with his bla bla bla never raised this issue in his lamentations, the NDC didn’t as well. No parliamentarian or any government official should be monthly paid if an ordinary state employee is not fully paid. It is as simple as that. Shame on you parliamentarians, you don’t deserve to represent the people. We will build schools and hospitals, the government said. Pay the health workers first before building a new hospital.
