  He and his likes were the ones who desecrated our forests and water bodies the most. Their kingpin, chairman Wuntumi who is the Ashanti Regional NPP chairman is still walking. That gave Afenyo-Markin the thought that government was doing nothing about galamsey. Apart from him and the NPP surrogates and affiliates, the rest of us Ghanaians who are in majority have recognised the good fight being waged by the government against galamsey. We don't need any attention from this man.

  NDC and collaborators were on the streets just before the elections asking the previous government to declare a state of emergency immediately! That meant that it does not require any length of time to declare a state of emergency, and rightly so. Therefore what is stopping the NDC who were championing same from implementing it now? Declaring a state of emergency in something destroying our environment and existence does not require any time in doing so, if we mean well and want to keep our promises during campaign time. It smells of hypocrisy to now saw the government needs time!

  I believe in the NDC GOVERNMENT, but let’s call a spade a spade, the minority leader is saying the truth this time. If a minister in charge of Lands and Mineral resources openly cried before the public to justify his concerns, then why is the president finding it difficult to put a total ban on illegal mining (GALAMSEY)? Please President Mahama ban GALAMSEY, even if it gives the state US$ 100b per day. No amount of money can purify our water bodies, no amount of money can save our soils if they are polluted and destroyed. I am personally begging President Mahama to ban GALAMSEY in NAME OF GOD!! Where is the belief if we let others destroy nature? The president said he is Christian and a believer.

  This minority leader has been in public conversation for all the wrong reasons, displaying himself as very immature, devoid of sense and a big loose talker. Your party was in charge for 8 years, encouraged and pursued the destruction of our water bodies and forests with impunity. Then after 4 months as the minority leader, you have embarked on a crusade to make it look it is the NDC government that caused the galamsey problem. Afenyo, you don't have to be insincere and dishonest to prove your leadership qualities. So far, you have not proved you could be the matured and responsible leader the NPP needs right now. Stop making your voice heard for some stupid and dumb pronouncements and save the little dignity left in your personality.
