He obviously did not use government funds for the purposes for which it was supposed to be used for. It did not go through the laid down policies.
There is no law in Ghana as it stands now that guides the receiving of such gifts by a political party. There are strict laws on donating to political parties in the Western countries.
It is not upon Mahama or any recipient to do any checks.
Everyone should read: Political Parties Act, 2000 (ACT 574),

Simply put, stealing is stealing, and the person should be held accountable and jail and if were judges be in prison for 30 years to set example for others both old and young up coming Ghana who by grace get a chance to service the people of Ghana, you're not choosing to steal us but rather to lead good legacy to your country and family and your name will remain the same forever and forever.

If someone steals money from the church and then donates part of it back to support the church, they are still guilty of theft. The intention to steal remains, regardless of how the stolen money is used. Donating some of it doesn't justify the crime or serve as an excuse to avoid punishment. Simply put, stealing is stealing, and the person should be held accountable and jail and if were judges be in prison for 30 years to set example for others both old and young up coming Ghana who by grace get a chance to service the people of Ghana, you're not choosing to steal us but rather to lead good legacy to your country and family and your name will remain the same forever and forever.
