Waalook, the three organs of government, can check each other.
It is called, balance of power.
The judiciary does not will absolute power and must rule not based on bases that usually and complete undermine peace and harmony in the country.
The idea Mahama wants to go a 3rd term presumes, NPP and the suspended SJ take decisions together and are the only ones who can stop President Mahama changing the constitution to go a third term.
The same pastors Nana Addo and the NPP ignored should now intervene and force the President not to allow the petitions from ordinary Ghanaians to be head.
This whole idea democracy will collapse disregards what the majority of Ghanaians want, seek and can do to any regime that decides to trump their rights.
Ultimately, the laws, governments, institutions are there to protect the interest of the people not foreigners or a few.
The hypocritic NPP forget, Nana Addo was always seen dancing with Nana Konadu, the lady whose home they, the same NPP, allege keys were taken by the people who murdered the three judges.
We have to respect the courts, but the courts must also realise they are there to interpret the laws not by anyhow but considering public interest, safety of our people and the general well being of Ghanaians.
In fact, rulings like, 'may' in the constitution, can be interpreted as shall was overreaching their mandate and has the potential for anyone elected or appointed to govern to act obnoxious as it happened many times under NPP.
If democracy did not die when, they home of democracy practised John crow laws, and Nana Addo replacing the Electoral Commissioner with his own party footsoldiers, democracy will not die now President Mahama is resetting the country so we don't end up repeating the sins of countries like Zimbabwe and Ivory Coast, where judges of their Supreme Courts created political tensions that eventually, destroyed the peace, security and wealth of those nations.
We will continue to watch and speak come what may.
