Recent events on ORAL suggest that the AG can prosecute corruption related offenses. Why is there a need for the OSP? It is a duplication we can't afford as a country. In an attempt to be relevant, they are noisy, even on very small matters, in investigations that are supposed to be done quietly and making a big mess of their cases as a result.
It's time to scrap it. The hope was for an independent prosecutor who can go for the big cases, but we ended up duplicating the work of EOCO, Auditor General and other existing bodies, with no overall impact on corruption outlook.
