When was the last time we heard an NPP member providing a serious alternative policy to the country? Zero. All we hear from them are statements simply opposing everything the government does. This is not politics. Afenyo-Markin is not a soothsayer either. He needs a psychiatrist to evaluate his sanctity. He sounds odd and I think he needs help so as to bring the high office of parliamentarians into disrepute. So far, he is a twerp who claimed a form three English sentence in the constitution must be interpreted by the supreme Court. His backcloth also said their own NPP constitution needed to be rewritten because the party had violated a clause therein. Today, these same people telling others to go to court are shying away from the courts and holding press conferences. Even parliamentary table and chair breakers who are first timers in parliament are barking wolf whereas the law that their progenitor applied onto others has not changed. What kind of human beings are these? Perhaps, these are nation wreckers.

Where was Afenyo-Markin when Akufo-Addo was packing the Supreme Court? A small nation like Ghana has no need for so many Justices on the Supreme Court bench. Akufo-Addo was wrong for parking the courts, and this act by Mahama for nominating seven new Justices to Supreme Court also smells like a parking of Justices, and therefore totally unnecessary. Mahama isn't putting those seven persons on the bench because he wants to secure a third term. Rather, this attempt to park the court with Mahama's appointments is clearly intended to water down any influence that Akufo-Addo's appointees on the bench wield against cases brought before them that can have effect on the government's position. As much as I oppose Mahama's attempt to park the court, I just hope politicians like Afenyo-Markin will stop being hypocrites and speak out against any attempt to park the court by any President, regardless of party affiliation. Afenyo-Markin and all Members of Parliament who sat quietly and watched Akufo-Addo's intentional poisoning of the courts by parking them should be ashamed of themselves for either supporting that act or failing to speak out against it. Ghanaians can't be expected to have confidence in the independence of the Supreme Court when Presidents continue to park that court.
