There can be no excuses in fighting this menace. Any body involved in it from the traditional authorities political and security agencies must be punished several. I also think the Judiciary must wake up and more ruthless in persons convicted. Maximum sentences must applied at all times convictions are gained.

Mahama when in opposition demanded from Akuffo Addo to declare a state of emergency on galamsey in forest reserves and water bodies but I don't understand why Mahama is dilly dallying on galamsey fight.   Galamsey is killing many people in Ghana today and some Ghanaians can’t even see that Jesus Christ, just look at the water you’re drinking now it’s full of chemicals. The Ghana water company have to triple the amounts of the chemicals to clean the water for you to drink and that’s poison causing kidney disease and all that including food stuffs that are grown in the soil which is full of mercury and you sat there and insult others when they complain wait until you get to your sick bed then you will realise how foolish you’re for not supporting the Galamsey fight. It a national issue and everybody must rise and fight against Galamsey we’re many than them. If the government is not listening we must fight it our self for the sake of our future generations.

  it effectively---I have been advancing a simple answer to deal this GALAMSEY calamity on various platforms and it appears no one is listening to me .Reading through some of the comments I am quite shocked the threat posed by this MENANCE is not being taken serious in most quarters .-- VIDEO , PICTURES -and STORIES of the vast destruction of the environment is very disturbing -----
  Why the powers that ARE won't take on my proposed remedy to the threat i find it disappointing -- --.the solution is simply obvious in what I had offered --so why can't the authorities in charge take IT up and act on it ----In fact our GOVERNMENTS --past and presents are just refusing to deal with this Calamity---and by their lackadaisical attitude -one find it difficult to understand whatever is going on-----
  Let me get to the point straight away ----
  To say NO to GALAMSEY --means STOP GALAMSEY NOW ----so I say PARLIAMEMT
  -the Legislative BODY has to enact a LAW --to BAN any --[-all] Small Scale Mining activity period --there should be nothing like Legal or Illegal Small Scale Mining, ---A President does not make LAWS -so PARLIAMENT must enact a LAW to that effect --any VIOLATION must attract severe PEANALTY even death sentence by Firing squad. Note that in some countries -e g. in ASIA --Drugs [Narcotics ] Trafficking attracts severe Penalty and in most cases -death sentence . It is a deterrent and it works -it reduces the crime. Small Scale Mining cannot be the only available JOB for anyone to be engaged in at the moment .Serious afforestation program must be undertaken to get the Agricultural Land and the Forest and the Water Bodies to an unpolluted state ,WATER is PRICELESS not the gold .PLANT is LIFE --WATER is LIFE and not the gold.-Now as much as the GOLBOB ENTERPRISE concept is prudent --my advice is that -the formal start operation of that establishment must be put on hold- young Sammy GYAMFI must be deployed to lead the Tree planting exercise to make it a success --and he can also be of use at the NDC propaganda ministry to help Ofosu Kwakye. Prudently since we want to STOP the GALAMSEY MENANCE effect on the environment-there is no need to rush to extract the gold from any small scale mining ventures-source. Let gold remain undisturbed in the ground until a safe ,unharmful responsible method is designed to win the gold.
  So whilst it appears there is a worsening of the GALAMSEY MENANCE in recent times a cue to follow is for pressure to be directed at Speaker GABIN and his PARLIAMENT to do the needful to save us ALL from the GALAMSEY MENANCE
  Let all PROTEST RALLIES -CIVIL SOCIETEIES COMMENTARIES ,TRADE UNION directives ,RELIGIOUS GROUPS messages, ALL OTHER GROUPS demands - focus on PARLIAMENT ---pressure them to come out with a BAN LAW TO STOP ANY SMALL SCALE MINING ACTIVITY AS i HAVE SUGGESTED.
