It is up to you and I to understood this and therefore make sure they are never returned to power by any means. As a country we have serious problems but instead of tackling the inefficiencies head on we prefer to play political football with it. The "missing containers" stories so far has given me some insights and the key one is us relooking at our administrative and procurement processes. First of all, why should a state agency be allowed to auction assets or goods or properties of another state agency meanwhile those state agencies have recurrent revenue? That process should be halted legally even if we need an Act of Parliament. Some of these containers may not necessarily be stolen but auctioned by unscrupulous individuals who deliberately allowed the goods to attract demurrage.ECG boss somewhere who deliberately leave the goods at the port to attract demurrage then secretly contact Ports abd Harbours Authority boss ( who is in the known of the transaction) and the goods are auction to an individual or company that is know to them and these goods are heavily discounted and sold cheap to cronies. I believe a lwa that can ban this actioning of state goods should be in place. If ECG generates revenue yearly and there goods are locked up at the port what prevents the MD going into contract with GPHA for the goods to be cleared as expected payments are made on monthly or quarterly basis? Instead the goods are seized and sold at salvage rate costing the state lots of money. For me, this loophole is an avenue for corruption

What made me even more sad was when Mahama intervened and asked Sam George not to prosecute and instead grant a waiver to broadcasting stations which did not folllow the right procedures in acquiring license for their broadcasting activities. This is a man who promised to re-set the country but turn around to encourage his sector minister not to prosecute wrongdoers.
