When they are negotiating deals with IMF of which we are a member nation, let them put the deal out in black and white and simple term for every Ghanaian to understand and see if anyone would tell them such things.
It is either our governments are ignoring and not tactful using their knowledge of geopolitics or complacent in seeing us fail by agreeing to bad deals while they get their cuts. I hope I am wrong because if the people see what is going on in black and white, there would be an uprising again.
And why at all do we have paradise perks for Judges, Chief Executives, government appointees to tour the world every year at least two tickets per year with family, health insurances for all of them, not considering the police/military body guards, 6-10 bed bungalows in prime location in Ghana, etc, etc while the rest of the people with little or no jobs carry the weigh of taxes to pay off the wild foreign loans feeding this shameful behaviour of the top brass. Why O why!

Those of us who were mature enough to appreciate the situation in the country at the time, remember the benefits of OPERATION FEED YOURSELF, and the massive industrial and housing development that took place in some of the cities and towns in the country during the first two to three years of the Acheampong regime. In the latter years, the economy took a severe downward trend, which was believed to be largely caused by lack of donor support, and attempts to arrest the downward trend through price controls only made matters worse. Matters got to a head when in the mist of all this, the then General tried to entrench his rule through UNIGOV (i.e. United Government), which resulted inthe palace coup led by his 'deputy', General Akuffo.

Indeed the private sector is the engine for the Ghanaian economy and it is also it's achillie heels. They are the largest employer in the economy and the most corrupt . They also are more often than not in bed with those who steer the wheels of government. This private sector also under pay most Ghanaian youth leaving them frustrated since most of these employees knows how much profit their employers are making.
The taxes that we need to be self reliance also are not paid . When these illegality is perpetuated against the state punitive punishment are hardly carried out by the agencies that has that civil duty .
This beautiful country , named gold Coast by the colonial masters continue to give out gold to them my our own kinsmen.
When handling such cases sane heads must prevailed less these private company folding up and people loosing their livelihood.
What must be done is having a robust data systems that could reduce these infractions.
Ghanaians are very smart and resilient and we have a beautiful country . So we should not allow acquiring fast money , cars or luxury things to the detriment of our environment, economy and the people.
Even in the developed countries that manufacturers these things not every has cars , or luxury things.
Yet look at how beautiful their counties or villages look like.
And see how we have turned all our cities and village rivers into .
They have snow and their country cannot never get hot through out the year. Yet they cherish trees, rivers their village lifestyles. They even encourage it.
Look at how we are gradually turning lake in kumasi and many of our rivers into.
Kumasi used to be called a garden because of its many rivers , wet lands and trees now gradually it is turning into a concrete garden.
I do remember Akatamanso in the early 2000s . And Legon hills ..wow what a beauty those places were because of it's greenery and trees. Now it is disgusting.
Now if the government reset agenda fails because of propaganda or selective justice.
They may rise a leader like JJ or what BFaso is experiencing who would whip these current older generation for failing them and in their old age they may suffer.

Fanmilk is owned by foreigners. Go and check. Same with Trassaco. May be Kantanka but even their npp went for their neck, ask Adjoa Safo.
Creating lasting manufacturing jobs requires favorable business environment : reliable and affordable power supply, interest rate, unregulated imports etc
Blame our leaders, if they enforce most of the rules without favoring their cronies . Yes we import everything because apart from the kwahu people , nobody has the skills open up manufacturing businesses.
What you describe is the NPP model of "nation-building". A destructive philosophy of perpetual regression for the benefit of a few fools to the detriment of the collective. Property-owning "democracy".

I would admit the NPP constant review in the computation of some of our taxes e.g. VAT could be part of this confusion. Taxation shd be made simple to allow companies calculate the right taxes.

I will not vote for Bawumia. He is a foolish man. Incompetent damn nasty liar. Mahama is my hero. Mahama all the way
Ghana has been bleeding since the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah. Kutu Acheampong tried something good but after he was killed by Rawlings, nothing good has befallen this country.
Rawlings was the who put a stop to all these, in his time he was the only one who closed and discipline the Akans who have companies and were not paying taxes. Most criminals in ghana are Akans
Col. Kutu Acheampong indeed started something very good. However, it is beleived that he was 'sabotaged' by our Western Donor Partners, because he drew back on honouring the dept obligations of previous governments.
Where the hell did you got that from? Kutu Acheampong? Why then was he arrested by Fred Akuffo who himself messed up?
Management efficiency was sacrificed for something else.
You must have been a very young person, or perhaps not even born by then.

PRESIDENT MAHAMA IS REALLY RESETTING THE COUNTRY. LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED
Ndc will collapse these companies in the name of politics meanwhile they can’t create a single job for youths and the stupid people will support this nonsense..Have checked Ibrahim companies?? Sick country!!
There shd be concern when there is massive failure during an exam. Could it be that the questions were too difficult or the marking schemes were too demanding?GRA shd check their tax computations which may be too complex.
This is very serious, companies in that magnitude invaded tax. Such a huge sum of money lost. Ghana indeed is a crime scene.
How the hell does the GRA think most of the Executives and Directors of some of these companies get to own and drive V8s around? UNDER-INVOICING!
Hardware dealers, grocery shops and other businesses bill consumers with taxes but it is never paid to GRA .
Franko trading is Franco phone and has been doing this since.
GRA REPORTS ARE RELEASED YEARLY…IT IS UPTO THE SECURITY AGENCIES TO ENFORCE THE LAW…SO NOBODY SHOULD GIVE MAHAMA ANY CREDIT YET…WE ARE WATCHING
