In light of the pressing issues currently confronting our beloved nation, it is deeply disappointing that some choose to focus on trivial matters—such as the Pope’s past occupation—rather than addressing the urgent challenges facing our people. Let us not forget that the Pope, like all of us, is a human being born of a woman and shaped by the realities of life, not a spirit from another realm.

If certain voices in the media or public discourse have nothing meaningful to contribute to the national dialogue, perhaps it would be more productive for them to withdraw from the conversation altogether. At this moment, many of us are in mourning over the loss of a true intellectual giant and statesman, Professor Thomas Akabzaa—a man whose legacy deserves far more attention and reflection. Let us focus on honoring such great minds and tackling the real issues confronting our society.

I hope you will express such shock if you were told he was bribe taking journalist, or a priest who pleas for a corrupt official. Tell me who in modern day Ghana could absolve himself from bribery and ask urself why some of are so quick to judge or is lack of enlightenment. How many stories have you burried because of intervention from all kinds of people, were you not at a point pursuing a church elder corrupt case? All the sources from which this information came from were the Hindustan Times, Times of India and the Deccan Herald. These are all papers published in India.
