On what grounds should Mahama remove the Chief Justice?
For what? For insubordination?

Right now there is no prima facie case of insubordination established against the Chief Justice, neither is there any case of malfeasance established against the woman.
The reality is just simple. The NDC is a party known for its wanton abuses of rule of law, human rights and criminal justice laws. Considering the past record of the AFRC/ P/NDC.

The NDC is the only party known in the history of Ghana and the Gold Coast for executing three High Court Judges and one military officer with in the cover of the night with impunity. And as we remember? the trial of the perpetrators of that heinous crime was bungled and there was a speculation that the alleged principal orchestrating convict was said to have been released and sent to live in Muamar Quaddafi’s Libya, even after Ghanaians were shown pictures of a staged firing squad of one Captain Amatey Quaye by the erstwhile P/ NDC JJ Rawlings military junta.

NDC is also known as the very party that threatened to abduct, rape or marry a former Chief Justice: Mrs Theodora Woods by force. The perpetrators in that abominable attempt were also pardoned and set free by John Manama, even after those known NDC thugs were convicted of the crime and sentenced to serve about six months each in the Nsawam Government Penitentiary.

Again the NDC is known or have been cited in many instances for verbally threatening the members of our Judiciary.
Despite all these abuse on the judiciary, the Mahama administration is also plotting to remove the current Chief Justice based on some flimsy excuses . But some of us will be quick to report the administration to the international community, given how John Mahama himself made several attempts to paint the Akuffo-Addo administration as the government that abused the rule of law, intruded and trampled upon Ghanaians citizens civil rights when the NDC was in opposition.
Especially in reminiscent of the infamous speech John Mahama gave at the Chatham House in January 2023

Well Boat! It' seems like most of you commenting on General Mosquito's idioms of " if an old lady is about to die she's dangerous", well, this idiomatic expressions is the same as " if a crocodile is about to die, it' leans it's head on a big stone". This you don't take it literally, it mean in our adage, that no one dies without the cause. Or there's no smoke without fire.
So all what General Mosquito's idioms meaning is, the CJ is going to be removed, but he (he General Mosquito's) is not going to voice out, and then when it happened people are going to blaming him or saying a lot of things against him, so he will keep quiet on that issues, that's what the idioms means

The judiciary is an independent arm of government and shouldn't be politically interfered with. The former justice Atuguba was perceived to be a sympathizer of the NDC during the 2012 petition but Akufo-Ado didn't remove him when he won power. If this happens the judiciary will go down as a political appendage and every government will appoint a new CJ citing flimsy reasons.

Ot was expected that she would quickly replace the SC justice who was absent immediately and allow the court action challenging her removal to continue without further delay.

After all this case is in her own interest.
