  In the olden days the chiefs in the Kwahu area used to celebrate festival where the they were carried in palanquins parading their various streets in an ostentatious way. Those festivities were considered the right time for all natives living outside the area to come together in family reunion The times of the festivals coincided with the Easter holidays and that has become a tradition since; even though the celebration of the actual festivals are discontinued

  Some 40 years ago, we have the Ampadu’s, City Boys, Smart Nkansah, Black Beats, Sappers, Classic Handles - the bank which produced Kojo Antwi, Afro Beats, AB Crentsil etc etc.., all playing in a venue or hotel in Kwahu during Easter. Modern day Kwahu is a tourism booster, massive hotels, plush houses, and the huge rock Kwahu is sitting on, plus the people’s hospitality. I love Kwahu because of kebabs and palm wine
