A number of political parties took the matter to court. We were told that the CJ, Gertrude Torkorno, was out of the country so a date would not be set for the hearing of the matter. A matter that was time bound. (Eeeii, did she travel with the administration of the courts in her handbag?). When she returned, a date was set for the hearing. The date set was such that the matter would be heard AFTER the limited registration had been done.
This is one of the ways the JUDICIAL AUTHORITY of the STATE has been blatantly hijacked, subverted, privatised, misused and abused by Getrude Torkorno and the unanimous 7 (of Akufo Addo) for partisan political and other parochial interests. I vote for the removal of Getrude Torkorno as CJ.

Right now there is no prima facie case of insubordination established against the Chief Justice, neither is there any case of malfeasance established against the woman.
The reality is just simple. The NDC is a party known for its wanton abuses of rule of law, human rights and criminal justice laws. Considering the past record of the AFRC/ P/NDC.
The NDC is the only party known in the history of Ghana and the Gold Coast for executing three High Court Judges and one military officer with in the cover of the night with impunity. As far as we know the trial of the perpetrators of that heinous crime was bungled and there was a speculation that the alleged principal orchestrating convict was said to have been released and sent to live in Muamar Gaddafi’s Libya, even after Ghanaians were shown pictures of a staged firing squad of one Captain Amatey Quaye by the erstwhile P/ NDC JJ Rawlings military junta.
NDC is also known as the very party that threatened to abduct, rape or marry a former Chief Justice: Mrs Theodora Woods by force. The perpetrators in that abominable attempt were also pardoned and set free by John Manama, even after those known NDC thugs were convicted of the crime and sentenced to serve about six months each in the Nsawam Government Penitentiary.
Again the NDC has also been cited in many instances for verbally threatening the members of our Judiciary.
Despite all these abuse on the judiciary, the Mahama administration is again plotting to remove the current Chief Justice based on some flimsy excuses?
But some of us will be quick to report the administration to the international communities, given how John Mahama himself made several attempts to paint the Akuffo-Addo administration as the government that abused the rule of law, intruded and trampled upon Ghanaians citizens civil rights when the NDC was in opposition.
In reminiscent of the infamous speech John Mahama gave at the Chatham House in January 2023, Mahama’s actions are the typical example of what is termed “ Preaching Virtues and Practicing Vices”.

Until the Ghana Card was issued to Ghanaians, there wasn’t any authentic proven identification for Ghanaians even including the Ghanaian passport. Even up to date every birth certificate in Ghana was issued on a stated information.
Unlike the current Ghana Card that has authentic biographical information, fingerprinting and face recognition technology, the birth certificates in Ghana have no means of authentication. Only uninformed people like you will still be making a fuss about the ruling of the Supreme Court in rejecting the birth certificate as a prove of citizenship. In Ghana some people can obtain more than one birth certificate with different informations, but the Ghana Card can never be falsified.
