Government must renegotiate a new deal, taking majority part and user that to develop the region and to improve the lives of the local and surrounding communities. Look at Johannesburg, which used to be a mining community, we also need one in Ghana.

  We just want extension of mining at Damang.I thought MinCOM messed up allowing a mine to get to the point of processing low grade stockpiles.To be fair to Goldfields gold prices only starting last year so it will have been difficult to make any new big investment decisions.Now that prices are high every one wants a piece mining is a long time investment.Thanks to Trump we have high prices
  What will happen to Perseus Mining which has less than 3 years of life.Prestea Bogoso mines needs massive investment .Kubi Project idling.Adamus Nzema and Konogo mines need massive investment in refractory ore
  We as a country have so many people holding prospecting licences but not exploring.Most have been turned into Galamsey.We need Ghananuan entrepreneurs to explore and open new mines in Gold .Iron Ore etc.That is what real empowerment is.We open our own mines and run it.This easy trick of taking existing mines will not help.We messed up our own GIJOC SGMC .We need Dangote type investors in Ghana.We create things and successive governments create the conditions to thrive.
