VIP operates on a different business module than STC. VIP operates as a franchise which means most of the buses are owned not by the company but by individuals and businesses people whom are responsible for purchasing and maintaining the buses. They pay VIP for use of the brand name and have to use its colors and abide by regulations stated by the company.

STC on the other hand is responsible for purchasing and maintaining its buses in addition to meeting Labour costs etc.
