Prosecution or not, getting foreign criminals out of the country is a good thing. Stop politicising every decision the government makes.

  • JACK TORONTO 8 months ago

They must be prosecuted and, after serving the sentences, be deported. Deporting them alone is too lenient for such crimes.

  • DotCom 8 months ago

You have a point but l disagree with you. The longer they stay in ghana prison, the more the government spends on them. They must serve the rest of their sentences in their home countries. That would be a good compromise.

Ghanaian politicians are very interesting people. Very ridiculous statement from the Minister indeed.

Cant u guys reason for once?

Rightfully so. We can’t be seen liberating foreigners and criminalising our citizens instead. All should face the law squarely.

I agree. They should be jailed first.

Did the minister check with the AG before making such statement?
Hope they wer his personal opinions

I hope President Mahama will come clear on this very contentious issue. It is much too early to let the Ghanaian Electorate regret giving him that 'overwhelming victory' in the last elections.

  • Martin Kreisler 8 months ago

Not that there was a concievable better alternative anyway.

Awula is right there. Let's chase them, grab them, prosecute them, jail them and thereafter deport. Worse still, hung them for they have no respect for our lives. That will deter them.

  • Poncho 8 months ago

But truly this is how it is done everywhere in the world, as a foreigner after serving your prison sentence, U are deported to your country of origin! How come as Ghanaians our own system is different...just deportation!!
